After your arrival in Brazil, you have a period of 90 days to introduce you to the Policia Federal (PF) in your city of residence and you save it in the "Registro Nacional Migratório" (MNC), formerly known as the "Registro Nacional de Estrangeiros" (ENN).
This registration is a mandatory step of your expatriation in Brazil and is required to perform certain administrative procedures.
In case of exceeding the time-limit of 90 days, you will be in an irregular situation and you will have to pay a fine.
At the end of this procedure, a number MNC, you will be assigned, and an identification card called "Carteria of Registro nacional Migratorio" (CRNM) you will be fabricated and delivered. Remember to request your CPF in advance because you will be asked during registration.
To complete your registration, you must first go to the website of the Policia Federal to fill out an electronic form and choose a niche for an appointment.
The day of the appointment you will need to go to the federal police with the following documents :
Take care to ensure that all your documents are consistent, because they will be thoroughly discussed during the appointment.
On-site you will be supported by an agent that will complement your folder.
You will then be photographed for your future card " CRNM ", and your fingerprints will be recorded in the system.
At the end of the appointment, a document called the "Protocolo" you will be delivered. This document to keep certifies your registration with the Federal Police.
About a week after, you will receive by e-mail your number MNC. This number may be used to perform certain administrative procedures, such as opening a bank account.
If more than seven days have passed and that the Federal Police do you have anything sent to you, please don't hesitate resume by email.
Then about a month after, you will receive a new e-mail informing you that your card, the " caribbean regional negotiating machinery ", is ready. You will then be able to retrieve it directly to the office of the Federal Police, without an appointment, you show up with your passport and the " Protocolo ".
